Welcome to Eureka Springs launches next month

On August 29, Mercury will be in Virgo, Saturn in Aries, and my book in stores.

More than four years ago, I naively embarked on what I thought would be a small project. After spiraling into an insane amount of research, interviews, writing, and rewriting, Welcome to Eureka Springs: The I-Sh*t-You-Not History of America’s Quirkiest Town is set for launch.

The final text whooshed to the designer July 4 – which by happy chance is the day Eureka Springs claims as its birthday. (That story is in the book.)

With the manuscript done, the job is now to get the thing out. Much remains to be done.

Most importantly, more than a dozen chapters still need to be recorded for the audiobook. I want to wrap that up this month to be sure it launches the same day.

The ebook and a print edition with black-and-white photographs will be available at all of the usual online booksellers. A special edition with color photos and premium paper will be sold only by local stores. That means I need to hit the pavement and line up sellers. (If you have a shop and want to carry it, drop me a line.)

And at some point, I gotta think about maybe throwing a party on launch day. Stay tuned for details.
