Milestones on the way to launch
When I started writing Welcome to Eureka Springs: The I-Sh*t-You-Not History of America’s Quirkiest Town, I had no idea what I was getting into. I thought I’d be done in a year. That was four years ago.
Now the end is actually in sight, and I’m on track for a summer release for the print and ebook editions. The first 50 of the 60 short chapters are already in the hands of the designer.
There will also be an audiobook edition, which might get a separate release date. It will have the fun twist that a different Eureka Springs area resident will narrate each chapter.
Last weekend, we hit the halfway mark when Nate White became the 30th narrator, a little more than a year after Shawn Fouste became the first.
That project has become more fun and more meaningful than I could have imagined. The whole is definitely greater than the sum of its parts.
I’m looking forward to when I can finally share it!
